Privacy Policy | At The Show

At The Show is designed with privacy at its core. Your shows, photos and history stay on your device. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and we never sell your information.

1. Overview

At The Show ("the App") is an iOS application developed by McConnell Dev ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not receive a copy of it.

Concert attendance history — shows you've marked as attended or imported from your setlist.fm profile
Your ratings, notes and live-show logs — including songs you logged and predictions you made during a show
Photos you attach to a show — stored as references to your photo library, never uploaded
Search history — recently viewed artists, stored for your convenience
Show scores and statistics — computed on your device from publicly available setlist data
Cached artist, setlist and venue data — stored to reduce network requests and improve performance
App preferences — your display settings and preferences

2.2 Location Data

If you allow it, the App uses your device's location to:

Find upcoming concerts near you
Notice when you arrive at a venue, so it can offer to follow the setlist live (this uses background location, only if you choose "Always Allow")

Location access is entirely optional. To find nearby shows, the App sends your coordinates to SeatGeek and Ticketmaster with that request; their privacy policies govern that data. Venue arrival is detected on your device. We never receive your location. You can revoke permission at any time in iOS Settings.

2.3 Photos

If you allow photo access, the App looks for photos you took on the date of a show so you can attach them to that night, and it can save share cards to your library. Your photos never leave your device. You can choose limited access or revoke it at any time.

2.4 Microphone and Apple Music

In live mode, if you allow microphone access, the App listens for the song being played using Apple's ShazamKit. Audio is processed by Apple's service to identify the song and is not recorded or stored by us. If you allow Apple Music access, the App can preview songs and create setlist playlists in your library.

2.5 On-Device Intelligence

Some features, such as your Concert Persona and show narration, use Apple's on-device language model. This runs entirely on your device; nothing is sent to us or to an AI provider.

2.6 Anonymous Usage Count

Every copy of the App shares one setlist.fm request budget. To keep it healthy, once a day the App saves a small record to our iCloud database containing only:

A random ID created by the App on your device (not your Apple ID or any device identifier)
The date, the number of setlist.fm requests made that day, and the App version

This tells us how many people used the App each day and how many requests they made. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising. If you are signed out of iCloud, nothing is sent.

2.7 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not create user accounts or require login
We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal identifiers
We do not show ads or use advertising identifiers
We do not track you across other apps or websites
We do not use cookies
We do not sell your personal data to anyone

3. Third-Party Services

The App connects directly from your device to the following services to retrieve music, event and artist data. Each service's own privacy policy governs what it receives.

The App also links to ticketing sites such as SeatGeek and Ticketmaster. These links carry no personal data from the App. What you do on those sites is governed by their own policies.

4. How We Use Your Information

Almost all processing happens on your device, to:

Display setlists and concert information
Compute show scores, song rarity, predictions and personal statistics
Show nearby upcoming concerts (when location is permitted)
Recognize songs during a show (when the microphone is permitted)
Remember your recently viewed artists
Generate shareable score cards and setlist images

The only data we receive is the anonymous daily usage count in 2.6, which we use to manage the shared setlist.fm budget.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Delete All My Data in the App's Settings erases your shows and history from your device
Deleting the App removes all data stored on your device
Anonymous usage records (2.6) contain nothing that identifies you, so they cannot be matched back to you for deletion; we keep them only as long as they are useful for capacity planning

You have complete control over the data on your device at all times.

6. Advertising and Data Sales

The App is free and contains no advertising. We do not use the App Tracking Transparency identifier and do not share data with advertisers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not participate in data broker networks.

7. Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features including device encryption, passcode/biometric lock, and the iOS App Sandbox. The anonymous usage count is stored in Apple's iCloud infrastructure.

8. Children's Privacy

At The Show is rated 12+ on the App Store. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and it does not collect personal information from any user.

9. Your Rights

For All Users

Access your data — all of it is visible within the App
Delete your data — use Delete All My Data, or uninstall the App
Control permissions — location, photos, microphone and Apple Music can each be granted or revoked in iOS Settings

For European Users (GDPR)

Because your data stays on your device, most rights are exercised directly in the App or iOS Settings. The legal basis for processing is your consent (location, photos, microphone, Apple Music) and our legitimate interest in keeping the shared service running (the anonymous usage count and caching of public data).

For California Users (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
